programme notes

about Kinokamu.

Kinokamu is a small, quiet companion for the films you keep meaning to see. You build a watchlist; we keep an eye on the cinemas in your city; and when something on your list appears on a screen near you, we surface it — gently, once a week — with the showtime and a booking link.

We focus exclusively on independent and repertory cinemas — the small rooms keeping cinema-going alive. Just the films your city's independent screens are actually showing this week.

Cinema is better with company. Find the friends who already share your taste, follow what they're adding to their reels, and see when your watchlists overlap on the same screen the same evening. When something lines up, plan a trip together: pick a film, propose a couple of times, invite a few people, and let everyone vote. The moment a quorum lands on the same showtime, Kinokamu confirms the trip and nudges everyone with the booking link — no group-chat scheduling, no chasing replies.

Showtimes come from kinot.fi (Korttelikinot ry) and elokuviin.com. Film metadata and posters are from TMDB.
